In presence of H.E. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of RAK Economic Zones Authority “RAKEZ” and a number of heads and directors of the agencies operating in Ras Al Khaimah, the unified team of RAK Government, which includes government agencies (Department of Human Resources, Department of Economic Development, Department of Customs, Department of Public Prosecution, Department of Courts, Department of Protocol and Hospitality, Department of Antiquities and Museums, Amiri Diwan, Department of Finance, Environment Protection and Development Authority, EGA, Sheikh Saqr Program for Government Excellence, Municipality Department and Public Works Department), and under the supervision of RAK Committee for Annual National Initiatives, the largest group charitable Iftar at the emirate level, on the occasion of Zayed Day for Humanitarian Work and as part of the initiatives of the Year of Giving, at the Corniche Wedding Hall. This is an initiative of RAK Department of Human Resources for the Year of Giving 2017.

Sheikh Ahmed bin Saqr Al Qasimi stressed that this event comes in line with the directions of the wise leadership to make 2017 a year of giving, bringing happiness and smiles to the members of society, and spreading the principle of social partnership among state institutions to serve the society.

H.E. Dr. Mohammed Abdullatif Khalifa, Secretary General of the Executive Council and Chairman of the Ras Al Khaimah Committee for Annual National Initiatives, stated that the organization of the largest banquet of its kind at the level of the emirate came in line with Zayed Day for Humanitarian Work and in commemoration of that occasion dear to the hearts of all citizens and residents of the UAE, indicating that the unified work team held many continuous meetings to produce this event in the best way possible.

He added that the event witnessed a great turnout that exceeded the committee’s expectations in terms of number and size, which was witnessed by more than 3,500 employees of local entities, workers, and low-income people, in addition to a group of orphaned children and their families of different nationalities, at the group breakfast, where they received symbolic gifts presented by the participating parties. The event also received a wide media response in the local media, indicating that the number of participants, collaborators and supporters from local, private and charitable bodies reached 30, an indication of the importance of this event. Volunteer teams in local departments participated in organizing the event including a team of volunteers from the Public Prosecution Department, the Municipality Department, the Customs Department, the Public Works and Services Department, “Sawaed Al-Khair” from the Courts Department, and volunteers from the Emirates Red Crescent Authority, and Emirates Association for Volunteers.

A group of supporting entities contributed to the success of the event: Ras Al Khaimah Wedding Halls, Al Rahma Association for Charitable Works, Saqr Bin Muhammad Al Qasimi Foundation for Charitable Works, Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zones Authority, Ras Al Khaimah Cement Company, Ras Al Khaimah White Cement and Construction Materials Company, Emirates Social Development Association, Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority, Ministry of Health and Community Protection, RAK Civil Defence, Ras Al Khaimah Charitable Foundation, Emirates Association for Volunteers, Ras Al Khaimah Broadcasting Corporation, Emirates Red Crescent Authority, Takatof, iDesign Advertising, Emirates Chemical Society, RAK Pulse, Ice Roll, Connection Advertising, Maspero Advertising, Emirates Red Crescent Authority.
He also expressed his thanks and gratitude to everyone who supported, participated, and contributed to the success of the event, and confirmed that it will be planned to expand the scope of the event and participation to include other sectors in the coming years
